Abstract painting relies on design, colour and composition. Learn how to free up your work with loose and expressive mark making which results in exciting and dynamic artwork. You will learn how to:

​

● Use colour and tone working with complementary colours

● Explore different paint application techniques

● Use brush marks, palette knives, acrylics, pencils and everything in between!

● Produce a finished painting, ready to hang

​Let’s Abstract the Landscape...

1 day 

​

This is an opportunity to learn how to abstract the landscape.

​

You will be shown how to formulate atmospheric paintings.  You will explore how formal creative concepts can influence and help as you work. Learn how to untether your work from the subject matter which results in exciting and dynamic artwork. You will learn how to:

​

● Use colour and tone to alter the sense of reality

● Learn different paint application techniques

● Use charcoal, acrylic paint,, palette knives, pencils, inks and more

● Explore layering and mark making techniques

● Produce a finished painting, ready to hang

​

All courses include materials, refreshments and lunch together with free parking on site. 

 

All courses are one-to-one and each course can be structured to your needs so you can learn at your own pace and level of experience.
